Friends of Duane Park hosts events to create community spirit in the neighborhood. Some of our events help generate funds that fuel our work in the park and garden.
Wednesday, December 11th, 4pm – 5:30pm. Join us for some holiday cheer with Church Street School of Music. Friends of Duane Park will offer some festive beverages and holiday treats to celebrate the spirit of the season.
Sunday, February 2nd, 2:00 – 4:00pm. Free! Celebrate Groundhog Day in Duane Park with our annual ice sculpting, cookies and hot chocolate. Whether the prediction is for an extended winter or an early spring, we will have a celebration of both.

Church Street School for Music and Art will be performing in the park during peak trick or treat for our neighborhood.
We need your support to pay for day-to-day things like cleaning, new plants and flowers, care of the trees, pest control, as well as the Restoration Project. To support our effort to turn asphalt into greenery, please give! Every dollar donated this week will be matched up to $25,000. Thank you!

Rachel Bard is a New York based singer-songwriter and visual artist. SPRING and SPRING LIVE, her latest EPs, were recorded in two days in a building full of musicians celebrating their friendship and collaboration in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. She is very excited to play her music at Duane Park.

Shannon is probably currently best-known as the lead singer of Lez Zeppelin, the wildly-popular, internationally-acclaimed all-female Led Zeppelin “she-incarnation” band. Considered “queens of the all-female homage game”1 (The Guardian), Lez Zeppelin currently performs all over the world.

Marco Foster is a singer / recording artist based in Brooklyn, New York who has found a musical home reinventing classic songs of the past for a modern world. Having performed at venues as historic as Wembley Stadium and as intimate as the coffee shops of New York City, Marco’s extensive repertoire and dynamic ability in any setting has led to a career spanning over a decade. With his unique acoustic style, Marco has built a following of over 175K across platforms and amassed over 30M streams.

Tomoko Sugawara was born in Tokyo, Japan. She studied harps at Tokyo University of Arts. She plays in solo, ensemble and in orchestras. in 2007 she came to NY for ancient harp, kugo research & activities. In 2013 she founded Eurasia Consort. She enjoys harps from East & West, and plays the renaissance harp, the Baroque triple harp and ancient Asian harp, the kugo. In her Summer routine she has workshops at the Somerset Fork Festival. She looks forward to playing beautiful harp music in the Springtime at the marvelous Duane Park.

Also this year we are accepting gently used youth sports equipment like: softball/baseball bats, soccer ball, basketballs, lacrosse stick etc. These will be donated to Hudson Guild.

Thursday, October 5th, 6:30 – 8pm. Grant Swift performs regularly as a one-man band, and is one of the most sought after private event musicians in the Eastern United States. Swift specializes in R&B, Rock, Soul, Folk, Pop, and Jazz that is uniquely arranged for guitar, voice, keys, and “live looping”.

Thursday, September 14th, 6:30 – 8pm. Tribeca’s “None the Wiser” returns to Duane Park featuring Peter Schellbach and Stephen Oppenheimer on guitar, Tim Seymor on drums, and Tony Reilly on bass. This 4-member band will take you down classic rock memory lane.

Once again Friends of Duane Park will be closing Duane Street, building one long community table for 175 guests, and hosting a magical evening of neighborhood connections, memorable conversations, and delicious food and wine.
Wednesday, July 12th, 6:30 – 8pm. Eric Blicker Trio are avid fans and performers of American Blues and Rock. The band features Eric on guitar, Bill Reeve on drums, and Dave Hamburger on bass. For a preview of the band check them out on YouTube.
Thursday, June 8th, 6:30 – 8pm. Alyson Faith featuring John Putnam, a professional guitarist, will make their debut at Duane Park, an event not to be missed. They will be playing original music and soulful covers.
Alyson is a NYC-based singer/songwriter who has been performing for over the past two decades. Her songs have been featured in independent films, compilations and on TV shows. She has regularly collaborated with established songwriters and has shared the stage with artists such as Joan Osborne, Pete Seeger, Felicia Collins, and Paul Shaffer.
